Virtual Reality

What is QuickTime Virtual Reality?

A QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) panorama is a 360 degree photographic image, which allows viewers to explore places in 3D, such as a room or an outdoor vista as if they were actually there. Observers can zoom in and out, look up and down and pan around.

Hotspots can be made within these panoramas which when clicked on can present information in the form of graphics, photos, video, sound, text, or other media. These hotspots can also be linked to other panoramas to create a VR tour.

A VR tour connects several QTVR panoramas together allowing the user to navigate from one panorama to the next. This makes the whole process interactive. For an example of a QTVR tour see the museum example.

Applications of QTVR

QTVR panoramas have a wide range of applications within business and can be used in just about any situation, inside our outside. Your potential clients could view restaurants, accommodation and housing, tour a travel destination or university, visit museums and much more - all without having to leave their chair.

Tourism, real estate, architecture, manufacturing, retail, education and training are just some of the sectors that can benefit from using this technology. In fact whenever a visual scene is important to convey a concept or location, QTVR is both beneficial and highly effective.

Creative Aspects approach to QTVR

Our aim is to produce virtual reality of exceptional quality. We provide everything from the photography through to the editing and programming, and can produce single panoramas to full interactive virtual tours for web or CD-Rom.

To achieve this quality, the photography is of paramount importance. Creative Aspects benefit by using our own professional photographer, specialising in VR. His attention to detail and experience, guarantees our panoramas are of the highest standard.

Once the photography is complete, post-production work begins. This involves editing the photos and may include colour correction, image enhancement and minor retouching. Our programmers can then 'stitch' the photos together, add any hotspot links that are required and create the QTVR panorama.
